History

In 2003, Promise enjoyed a workshop and two concert performances with Nautilus Music Theatre of St. Paul as part of their Rough Cuts series.

In 2004, The Lawrence Gallery in Portland, Oregon hosted two semi-staged concert performances to sold-out houses.

In 2006, two concert versions were performed at the Detroit Institute of Art during a retrospective exhibit of sculptures by Camille Claudel and Auguste Rodin. A narrated concert of excerpts was performed for the National Opera Association Conference at the University of Michigan Art Museum in Ann Arbor, Michigan that same year.

A workshop production of the newly revised version of Promise took place in April of 2012 at Ainsworth House in Oregon City, Oregon and the Scottish Rite Center in Portland, Oregon. Kevin Yell directed, in cooperation with the music ensemble 45th Parallel, under the leadership of Gregory Ewer. Four workshop performances were open to the public.
